Matthew Petrie, MD

Dr. Matthew Petrie was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he was elected into the Phi Beta Kappa honors society. He attended medical school at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC, where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. Dr. Petrie performed his internship at Wake Forest University Hospital before he completed his dermatology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He remained in Philadelphia to complete a Mohs micrographic surgery / procedural dermatology fellowship at the Dermatologic SurgiCenter.

 

Dr. Petrie is board certified in both dermatology and micrographic dermatologic surgery by the American Board of Dermatology.  He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and American College of Mohs Surgery. Dr. Petrie has published articles in dermatologic surgery / Mohs surgery publications.  His primary focus is the surgical treatment of skin cancer utilizing Mohs micrographic surgery.

Dr. Petrie lives in Pittsburgh with his wife Julie, who is a dentist, and 3 young sons. He enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, swimming, reading, eating, and traveling.

Brittany DuBois, PA-C

Brittany DuBois is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in Dermatology. Brittany joined Commonwealth Dermatology in 2019. She is a diplomate fellow with the Society of Dermatology PAs.  

Brittany completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Iowa and received her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies at University of Charleston in Charleston, WV. Prior to working at Commonwealth Dermatology she worked as an inpatient and surgical physician assistant in Gynecologic Oncology. She incorporates her previous experience into her medical and surgical dermatology practice in collaboration with Dr. Petrie. Brittany is passionate about skin cancer prevention and early detection. She emphasizes patient centered care and education for skin health.

In addition to maintaining licensure with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, Brittany is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Dermatology Physician Assistants and is currently the Secretary/Treasurer. 

Brittany lives in Canonsburg with her husband, Zach, and their dog Ahsoka.  She enjoys spending time outdoors, practicing yoga, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her family and friends.

Alexxa Safko, PA-C

Alexxa Safko is a board certified and licensed physician assistant specializing in Dermatology.

 

She was born and raised in the south hills of Pittsburgh, attending Canon-McMillan High School. She went on to complete her Bachelor of Science at the University of Pittsburgh, where she graduated magna cum laude. Prior to pursuing her master’s degree, she worked in pediatric vaccine reasearch and in the neonatal intensive care unit at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Physican Assistant Studies from West Liberty University, where she served at Vice President of her class.

 

Alexxa maintains her licensure with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assisants and is a member of the American Academy of Physcian Associates and Pennsylvania Dermatology Physician Assistants.

 

Alexxa enjoys living in Mt. Washington with her two cats, Stella and Floyd and her significant other, Ethan. She is passionate about international travel and has a goal of visiting at least one new country per year! She looks forward to helping you with all of your skin care needs.

Jessica Hall, PA-C

Jessica Hall is a board certified and licensed physician assistant specializing in Dermatology.

 

She completed her undergraduate and graduate degree at Saint Francis University in Loretto, PA.  She graduated magna cum laude and received her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Physician Assistant Studies.  Jessica was also an inductee to Pi Alpha National Honor Society of Physician Assistants.  Prior to working at Commonwealth Dermatology, she worked as a dermatology physician assistant on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. 

 

Jessica is licensed with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is a member and diplomate fellow of the Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants.

 

Jessica resides in Uniontown with her husband, Cody, and two dogs Mya and Luna. She enjoys riding horses, traveling, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends.  

 

Jessica looks forward to meeting new patients and hopes to bring aloha to Pittsburgh!
